Many special guests have visited The Girl Blue Project. We are grateful for the words of wisdom and for those who have shared their talents and life experiences.

On July 15th actress, Karen Malina White, of The Cosby Show, Malcolm and Eddie and the animated series, The Proud Family conducted a 2 hour acting workshop. After a little begging and pleading from the girls she agreed to do her character’s voice from The Proud Family. It was great!

Dr. Jo brought new energy to her creative writing class on July 16th by inviting author/playwright, Hugh Brian Asnen, creator of Sockmuffin to discuss writing and selfpublishing with the girls. Sockmuffin has been performed as a Christmas play for the last three years and is currently being developed into a screenplay. The possibilities are limitless!

Every Friday The Girl Blue Project has scheduled guests to lecture and conduct
workshops. July 18th The Girl Blue Project learned how to defend themselves. Mitchel Orquiola and his assistant, Eme of Art Is Studios taught a fabulous self-defense workshop. Don’t mess with GBP cause now the girls can kick some butt!

On July 25th Alex Albert of Heavens Scent, aka The Shea Butter Man, put the girls to work. They heated shea butter, mixed it with fragrance, and packaged it. The girls left with a few goods. Talk about the sweet smell of success, thanks Alex.

How can we forget the inspirational words and the spiritual voice of DreamWorks recording artist KINA! On August 1st we were treated to a mini-concert. Not only did KINA sing, the Girl Blue girls decided to hit a few notes—not to mention a couple of staff members. It’s all on video tape! Everybody is a ham when the cameras roll!

August 8th introduced poet/author Shari Randolph who performed and taught a two-hour workshop on poetry. The girls collaborated on a poem. Click on poetry. Shari is an amazing talent. She will soon be opening a Creative Writing school of her own. Good Luck, Shari!

August 15th: We are so lucky to have fashion designer, Tuesday Conner visit. She will donate some fashions for the performance. We can’t wait to see what she comes up with.

Special Events: The Girl Blue Project was recently invited to attend a taping of The New Reality Show on Fox. See photos. It was a great experience and we know who the winner is but “we’re not gonna tell”.
