The Girl Blue Project is starting our Second Year
WE’RE BAACK!. The Girl Blue Project is starting our second year and we have added some new and exciting changes to our program. The dates for this year’s program are July 12th through August 20th. Get ready for 6 exciting weeks of fun and hard work. There will be lots of sweating in some of the new classes and workshops. Don’t worry ladies sweat gives you that “natural glow”.

Last year we invited celebrity guests and entrepreneurs to visit the ladies of Girl Blue. We are honored to be able to do the same this year. We can’t wait to meet the beautiful and talented Erika Alexander of Living Single and The Cosby Show. She has a stellar film and television career. She has worked with Whoopi Goldberg and Sissy Spacek in The Long Walk Home and Julia Roberts to name a few. She is also a photographer and has agreed to photograph our girls!!! It doesn’t get any better than that. Not only is she a talented actress but she is a gifted photographer as well. You just never know the hidden talents of stars. As far as other celebrity guests, we will let you know when their people get back to our people who will call and reconfirm with their people. Phew! That’s Hollywood baby! (kiss kiss) We can’t wait to hear Ms. Alexander talk about her work. Maybe she’ll thank us in her Oscar speech? Hmmm.. Anyhoo, welcome aboard Erika!.

Speaking of boards The Girl Blue Project has signed on to be volunteers with Habitat for Humanity. We are going to help build a home for a family. Community service helps build character and in this case probably a little muscle too. Bring on the hard hats. The ladies will definitely be up for the challenge. This brings a whole new meaning to Girl POWER.

We also have some new and exciting staff members this year. We have the wonderful spoken word artist Jaha Zainabu. Jaha has toured with The Underground Poets Railroad, a documentary to benefit the families of the firefighters who died as a result of 911. We are looking forward to some SLAMMIN poetry sessions. Let’s not forget to mention life coach and author, Dr. Nicole LaBeach,PhD. If she can’t help you make some positive life changes I don’t know who can. Check out her book, CHOOSE YOURSELF in bookstores now. The title speaks for itself. Watch out Dr. Phil. Girl Blue has added CAPOEIRA to the program. This Afro-Brazilian martial art form is OUT OF THIS WORLD. This class gets you going with the drums and the music. Its fun and exciting. The rhythm is gonna get ya! For more info visit our website at www.thegirlblueproject.org or call us at 213-387- 2053. SEE YOU THIS SUMMER!!
